Having been raised in a Christian home, I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at an early age. My personal growth in the faith is directly related to my parents’ guidance and teaching, and through their ministry as missionaries and church leaders in the USA and here in Costa Rica.

I believe that God has provided through His Word and a personal relationship with Him the tools and guidelines we need to raise generations of active believers who are called to make a difference. I am committed to making Lighthouse a safe and active place, where healthy relationships are the lifeforce for learning academics, friendship, and love of God. I am always available to serve in any way I can, ensuring that the vision and mission of the school are upheld and effectively carried out.

I was born in Costa Rica where I have lived all my life. Education has been my passion. Since I was a little girl , I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I have been involved in Education for about 34 years, most of the time teaching lower elementary.

I believe that every educator needs to understand that it is equally important to bring into the classroom a smile, an open heart, and a sense of humor to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for students to explore and learn without being afraid of making mistakes, a setting in which students are free to grow and mature intellectually, emotionally, socially, and most importantly, spiritually.

I was given the honor to serve in Lighthouse International School since August 2013 as a Preschool and Elementary Principal. I love the fact that our students in Lighthouse not only receive an excellent education, but also grow in the Lord’s wisdom. I am blessed to work with a group of people who are passionate about children and education and at the same time love the Lord and excel at their work.

I was born and raised in the province of Guanacaste; I am the seventh of nine siblings, of farmer parents, and very proud of my peasant roots. I especially admire my father for being a visionary, hardworking, and loving man. I am married and have three children, the Lord has given us the privilege together with my husband and my oldest son to serve in our congregation The Tabernacle. In my free time I enjoy exercising, reading, but especially spending time with my family and my parents. I am very proud and grateful to work at Lighthouse, seeing daily God’s faithfulness for this ministry, in my life and in that of every person on the staff.

I have been at LIS for two years. I live with my husband and our two children. I enjoy handcrafting in my free time. I love working at LIS because it is an opportunity to serve the Lord and give all my talents to society. Also working in a place where children and young people need love and care makes me eager to give what the Lord has been giving to me.
